Anniversary Hearts CC225

Looking ahead in my calendar, I saw that the wedding anniversary of DH's father and step-mother is next week. I used Splitcoast Stampers CC225 as an inspiration. It is hard to see the saffron panels - it says "love" in the lower right corner, but it shows up on the navy panel. The DP is from the BG Boxer pad. The sentiment in the frame is MFT. Hardware is from We R Memory Keepers.

I'm keeping it short and sweet today. It's hot and I'm sleepy this afternoon. We'll see if DS will read some books or play while I catch a nap. Have a good one, everyone! Thanks for looking!

Creating While the Creating Is Good

Here's another card I got finished this morning! It's been a while since I've made two cards in one day!! This is a simple birthday card for a friend, using DCWV papers and SU! Certainly Celery. The small celery panel is embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. The cupcake image is from Stampendous, Hey There, Cupcake. It's a fun clear set that has all the cupcake bottoms and tops separate so it's very easy to paper piece. The twill ribbon is from my stash, and there is an orange rhinestone on the flame of the candle.

The sketch is from Techno Stamper's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge. You can see it here.

Thanks again for looking!

Early Morning Mojo

I was up and going early this morning, and the boys have gone off on a Porsche ride, so I jumped into my craft room. We have friends who are in Paris working for a few years and they recently sent me some great stamps that they picked up while in London for a weekend. They are taking advantage of where they are and are traveling all over. I'm jealous - we were in Ireland for a year, but Paris is so much more glamorous!

They were in Morocco not too long ago, so I made them a Thank You card with the BG Marrakech papers. The card base is Soft Sky and the yellow is some Bazzill textured cs. Hardware is from We R Memory Keepers, and ribbon from my stash. The layout is from the CPS site - sketch 122 posted today. I love their sketches and have been off the challenge wagon lately. Hopefully I'll find my groove when DS starts summer recreation next week. This week might be spotty since he will be home with me every day.

I'm going to jump back to my desk and see what else I can create this morning while it's still quiet. I hope you are all enjoying your Sunday! Thanks for looking!

PCP Birthday Card

Have you seen the Saturday Sketch Challenges at Paper Craft Planet? They are always great sketches, but I don't always get time to do them. However, this morning DS was in my craft room with me and he was making a card of his own, so I snuck in an attempt at the sketch. It is a 4.25 square with Basic Gray base, Bazzill textured layer, and some BG Perhaps dp. The sentiment is from MFT and the flower was made with the Nesties Blossoms dies in the Cuttlebug. The center brad and ribbon are from my stash.

Now we are off to enjoy this gorgeous day. We'll be headed into the pool in a little bit to cool off! I hope you are all enjoying a beautiful day wherever you are. Thanks for looking!

Another Baby Card

There are lots of babies coming in the next few months among people we know, so here is another baby card to go in the stash. I used the MFT Baby First set, and paper pieced the body of the buggy. The rhinestones and bit of ribbon were from my stash and the hearts are made with the Cuttlebug die. I used some MM chipboard stickers for the frame and also for the sentiment. It was a quick and easy card to put together.

Let me say I am feeling huge these days. I still have a few months to go - not due till September, but I don't think I was this big when I delivered last time! Seriously, I am looking forward to spending most of the next two months in the pool with DS so I don't feel so heavy. Tomorrow is his Kindergarten graduation, and I am an emotional mess this week. Today is my last day to stamp in peace, so I'm going to get to it. Thanks for listening, and thanks for looking!

Two Down, Two to Go

My DH and I have mixed families, which means there are lots of cards to make come Mother's Day and Father's Day. Here are the cards I made for his dad and stepdad. Still to be done are my stepdad's card, and a card for DH. Actually, the latter is made, but I can't post it in case he peeks at my blog!

For the first card, I used Furnished with Love and embossed the fan. I masked the sentiment from the image and then stamped it along with "you're" from one of my Verve stamps. The black layer on the banner is twill tape. For the second card, I used some of the Amy Butler paper that has been in my scrap stash for a while. I love it, but was reluctant to use it up. I have enough for a few more cards that I will save for a later occasion. The image is from Lovely as a Tree, stamped in True Thyme. The blue layers are scrap and the sentiment is from MFT. The square snaps are from my never-ending stash of embellishments.

Today, it's time to clean the bathrooms and do the dusting. Yippee. I may make myself do the bathrooms before allowing myself time in the craft room. This weekend we are headed to NH again and I also have to be sure our laundry is done before we go. So the next few days will be busy, but I do have a few more things to post. I hope you are having a good week and the sun is shining in your neck of the woods! Thanks for looking!

With a Cherry on Top

Today's Clean and Simple Challenge is based on a great sketch. This is a 4.25 inch square card, made primarily with scraps. The base is Basic Black, the red is scrap, the white is scrap and so is the ribbon. I stamped the images (Inque Boutique) with Versamark and then colored them with Prismacolor pencils and blended them. I stamped with Versamark because I wanted each part to have it's own color without a contrasting outline.

So many things can be done with this sketch, I have a lot of ideas floating around my head. I may go back to create more later. For now, I have to get cracking on those Father's Day cards!! Hopefully I will be back later with more posts.

I hope you all had a good weekend. We were busy with DS's last soccer session, and setting up the swimming pool we bought. It's very small, but will be perfect for DS for a few years. And since I'm due with baby in September, it's going to feel great for me in this long hot summer!

This week will be filled with preparations for going away again this weekend. Graduation party, Father's Day and travel. Have a good week everyone!

Marrakech Butterfly

It's been several weeks since I have been able to participate in the TechnoStamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch challenge. This week ws number 73! I have been wanting to dig into this BG Marrakech paper and today found that the SU! In Colors match it really well. The base is Kiwi Kiss, and the other papers are from the BG pad, except for the white scrap with the sentiment. I used the Nesties circle and Blossom dies, and the Cuttlebug butterfly die and swiss dots embossing folder. The sentiment is My Favorite Things.

This is a much bolder card than I usually make, but I like it in the end. I find that I use so many pastels, I just wanted a change. Thanks for looking!

Baby Shower Favors

This past weekend, I traveled to NH to attend a baby shower. Do you remember when my mom came to visit in May and we worked on the secret project? That project was the party favors, but I didn't want to post in case the guest of honor read my blog! Here they are, inspired originally by these onesies created by kimzeich on Splitcoast.

I decided that since the baby is a girl, we needed to modify the onesie into a dress. It was really quite simple, just took us alot of time. They began as 4 1/4 inch square cards. The dp was cut the same size, but trimmed with the scalloped edge punch along the bottom, then adhered to the card base. Next, we cut the neckline and sides for the dress shape. The card was opened and the sleeves were scalloped. DP is from DCWV, Nana's Nursery Baby Girl pad. The patterns in the 4x6 pad were the perfect scale for these little dresses. Inside, we attached small bags of pastel chocolates. They were a huge hit at the party!!

Now, I am trying to get back into the swing of things. DH and I are tag-team parents lately, between his business trips and my traveling for pleasure before baby comes in September. We will be headed back to NH next week for a high school graduation, then I have a girls' weekend planned in July. Summer is already booking up quickly! I hope you all have a good week and thanks for looking!

Floral Smile

Last Thursday's challenge at Three Clovers Designs was to make a shaped card. Since I recently picked up these new blossom Nesties from an LSS while visiting my mom, I had to use them. The base is a pale yellow Bazzill textured cardstock. The floral layer is from my scrap heap, as is the blue. The yellow center is the textured cs again, topped with a button tied with twine. The tag is cut from a Cuttlebug die and stamped with a Verve sentiment.

I love little cards like this and will keep it in my stash until the appropriate occasion comes along. Meanwhile, this is going to be baby week in my craft room as I am attending a baby shower this weekend and have lots of things to get done for the gift! How did June arrive so quickly???

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend - we were very busy with soccer, gardening, trip to the library, a trip to the zoo and housecleaning. DS and I are both exhausted, but we had lots of fun! Thanks for looking!
