CPS 191 x 2

Did you see the CPS sketch this week? Yikes! What a challenge! First, I made this cute little 3x3 card using a new stamp set I got from Prima. I thought the circles looked just like peppermint candies, to I used Stickles to color them in. The "wrappers" are bits of organdy ribbon from my stash. The papers are scraps! The sentiment is from the Pure Innocence set I used in the next card.



This time, I paper pieced the hat and jacket with some MME paper that I also used as the side shapes. This was such a tricky sketch, I wasn't sure how to work with it. But I think this card came out VERY cute and I love it! The base is Cherry Cobbler (my last piece - boo hoo!). I love that new color, and am no out of red card stock. How can that be? Cindy, I'll be emailing you again soon! Good thing my Christmas cards are all completed for this year.

EONAC: Coloring with Chalks

Here we are at Monday again, and the weekend is a distant memory. I did have some time to play in my stamp room yesterday, but Justin wanted to create with me and I spent most of my time helping him make his cards (he CASEd two of mine from last week!). I also had a killer headache most of the day and that cramped my mojo a little, too.

These little notes are all I managed to make this weekend - using the SU! hostess set, Of The Earth. I colored the images using the Chalkboard Technique, which satisfies the EONAC challenge to use a forgotten coloring too. My chalks were buried in the back of a drawer and it was fun to use them again with this cool technique! The papers are all from the scrap pile, with the exception of the Kraft card bases on the larger cards. The embossing is done with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. The most used folder in my collection, how about yours?

We are drying out after a horrifically rainy weekend. So many of our friends have flooded basements, but somehow we managed to avoid that. We did move most of our things up from the basement just in case, though. I hope you are all doing well and are spared from any wicked weather. Bring on the sunshine! Thanks for looking!

WT181 - Sharpen Up

Shame on me for not having a Fan Club membership over at Splitcoast Stampers. If so, I could add my photos on Sunday. I'll have to get these uploaded to my gallery tomorrow instead. Here are my card for the Ways To Use It Challenge from Thursday. I used Flaky Friends (new to me) and made some little 3x3 cards. The layout is from Sheetload of Cards Mini in July. Such a great little layout, I made 8 of these cards instead of 6, just because I could get that many pieces from some of my paper.Images are colored with my new Koh-i-Noor pencils, which I am loving! I thought I adored my Prismacolor pencils, but I (heart) these woodless color pencils. The laydown of color is so rich, it blends like a charm! The sentiment is from Everyday Flexible Phrases and the hardware is from Queen and Co.

This layout will definitely be used again in my quest to make Christmas tags. I've begun my Christmas cards - just stamping and coloring some images. How far have you gotten with your holiday cards??

We spent the afternoon at our neighbor's house, celebrating his birthday. Tomorrow my friend and I are aiming to walk 20 miles. We did 16 Saturday. I wasn't as sore as I thought I would be today. I am trying to get some playtime in before turning in tonight. Have a good night. Thanks for looking!

Back Among the Living

Ah, it feels so good to feel healthier! What a week it's been! I'm glad it's almost behind me... Thank you all for the well wishes!

DS returned to school today - couldn't miss the Valentine's Day party! He was so excited to go back and play with his friends. And you should have seen them mob around him when I dropped him off. It's so cute to see the friendships developing. Luckily, I had his Valentine card made up weeks ago, or I would have been scribbling kids' names on scraps of paper. Here are the cards he is giving out - and Smarties are tucked into the envelopes. The stamps are Love Ya Much, from CC Designs. They were just too cute to pass up, and I am especially in love with these little lovebirds! And the bunny with the appliqued tail, too cute! (sorry, Puppy, you're cute, too but I am partial to the others)

Today's Project

Here are some 3x3 gift enclosures that I've been chugging away at all day long. I have about 24 made and am hoping to crank out some more tonight. My husband has been with our son all day so I've been able to hide out in my stamp room for some alone time. It's been really nice! Now, though, I have to stop to run out and get groceries. I'll be back at it after ds goes to bed...

The bases of these are a variety of maroon, red, gold and silver cs. The dp is from the Provo Craft Holiday Slab V. The stamps are my adorable new Lizzie Anne Designs! The sets are Celebration Frames and Celebrations, both from the Little Bits line. They are very fun to color and I love that they came backed with cling film so I can use them with my acrylic blocks. Go get some for yourself if you haven't already! The corners of the image layer are punched with the ticket corner punch and I used glitter glue in the corners for some sparkle...

Seeing Threes

Cruising through the stamping blogosphere yesterday, I came across this challenge from Sharon at No Time To Stamp. 3x3s are something I have not done yet, and I don't know why. They are so fun! And so quick! I'll be making more of these in the future, I can assure you... Here are my debut 3x3s. The challenge was to make 3 of them. The base is brown cs. PP is Frances Meyer East India, which is one of my favorite papers in my stash. The leaf (SU! Tags & More) is stamped in Really Rust on a rust square from a Scrap Pack. Eyelets are rust, and the brads are copper. I paper pierced one around the edge and tied jute on the third one.

This is the last day of my vacation, which was everything I wanted in a week off. I got to putter around, shop, clean, relax and STAMP! I feel recharged, and happy that this is a 3-day weekend, so I don't actually have to report back to work until Tuesday. Also, I still have 2+ weeks of vacation to use before the end of the year, so I can do this again closer to the holidays :)

I've got an eye on my visitor counter, and am thinking that I will do some blog candy sharing at 500 hits. I'm not quite there, yet, but that gives me a goal to look forward to. Thanks for helping me reach it!
