Mom, Don't Look!

This card combines the F4A7 challenge at SCS (it used to be the Limited Supply challenge), the sketch from Technostamper's Monday Lunchtime Sketch 116, and the EONAC 12 to use up scraps. Who doesn't have scraps? I save every last bit of paper and am embarrassed to see how big my scrap stash really is. It's fun to go through the stash and try to remember what the original project was. Sometimes I think, "Oh, yeah, I loved that card." And sometimes "Oh, WHAT was I thinking?"

The papers here were sent to me in a swap a looong time ago, and the base is Rose Red. The letters are from MFT's Bling Bet and are decorated with Liquid Pearls. They are mounted on circles and Blossom One die cuts. I realize the Blossom layers should have been a lighter color to make them stand out a little more, but it's done.

We have had quite a week around here and are looking forward to a quiet weekend. I hope you have a good one! Thanks for looking!

A Lost Cause-a-Bella

I sat down to make this card last night and realized that I have lost my Causabella stamp. I makes me crazy to think that I have lost anything, so I'm going to have to tear my room apart to look for her over the next week. But hey, it needs a good clean anyway! After I gave up the search last night and went to bed, I realized that I had a few sheets of the image stamped off, so got back to work today.

This card almost consolidates 2 challenges from the past week. Kerry's sketch from Three Clovers Designs, the Girlie theme from SCS Limited Supplies Challenge. {ETA: I just realized that the LSC was to use NO patterned paper unless it was made with stamps. So I'm not as far ahead of the game as I thought :(} The dp is from Perhaps by BG and the cardstocks are Pretty in Pink and Sahara Sand from SU! The hardware is also SU and the pearls are from my stash.

Since I've been making cards as needed lately (if I have the time), this one is headed out in the mail tomorrow to an aunt of mine who is undergoing radiation for breast cancer. Between DH's and my families, we have 3 aunts currently undergoing treatment for various cancers. Please keep them in your thoughts! We went from no family history to this in less than 6 weeks!

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. Carter is sleeping in his bouncy chair right now and I'm thanking him for taking a nap so I could play in my craft room! I took Justin to a "Touch-a-Truck" event this morning and we had fun while Carter hung out with Daddy. So this afternoon was a little time for ME! Imagine...

LSC222 for Twins

Finally, I made a card for my neighbors, who recently brought home their twin baby girls. They were born almost 2 months premature and are doing very well. We have been waiting for them to get settled in before going over to meet the new little ones. The exciting part is that they will be the same age as my new addition, coming in September. It's nice to have kids on the block who can play together.

Today's LSC222 at Splitcoast was to use only plain paper for a base and the rest of the card had to be from patterned papers. Embellishments were also to be limited. A great challenge to use up all those scraps of dp we all have laying around! The papers are from Nana's Nursery Baby Girl by DCWV. I just love these papers and the glittered and embossed details on them. And of course the gorgeous girly patterns!!

DS and I have a busy weekend ahead of us. He has soccer tomorrow morning, then we hit the library and Sunday I think we are going to head to the zoo. DH is gone for another week and we are all getting tired of this trip! I hope you all have a nice weekend and spend some time for yourselves! Thanks for looking.

Today's Limited Supply Challenge

Since DH brought DS to daycare this morning, I had time to check out the Limited Supply Challenge and get a jump on it. The challenge is to use orange and coffee. Of course, I should be packing for vacation, but wanted to finish this card first. The dp is all from the White Out collection by We R Memory Keepers. Love these colorful patterns! The stamps are all MFT, Hot Stuff. I paper pieced her shirt and mug, then stamped the three hanging mugs on patterned paper and cut them out. In the upper left hand corner is a photo corner stamped with the coffee bean stamp from this set. I also separated the sentiment, adding extra ellipses with my small embossing stylus dipped in the Chocolate Chip ink. The steam from the cup is drawn over with my Sakura glaze pen. Ribbon is from my stash, brads are Making Memories.

Ok, off to create a few more posts so that I'm not totally MIA while away next week. Oh, and by the way, we are headed right up the coast to Cape Cod with Hanna tomorrow! Should be a fun drive, huh?

I wish you all good weather wherever you happen to be. Enjoy the weekend! Thanks for looking!

National Gardening Day Inspiration - LSC171

Today's Limited Supplies Challenge over on SCS was to celebrate National Gardening Day, National Doughnut Day or National Yo-Yo Day. After picking a huge bowl of strawberries from my backyard garden, I was inspired to make this card. I am pleased with how it came out, although the details took forever. I used Stickles, Puffy Paint and Diamond Glaze on the three different images. The letters are chipboard letters I got for a RAK from Teri Suzuki, ribbon is from Ribbons and Bows Oh My! The stamps are Kim Hughes for Cornish Heritage Farms, stamped with Chocolate Chip and Pixie Pink ink. The background dp is Berry Bliss, and the base is textured Bitter Chocolate from Bazzill. The other pieces are scraps. For the image panels, I used 3 different Nestabilities squares. The sketch is from Di Hickman, on May 28th.
Here's the card:
Here's the inspiration (about to become Strawberry Shortcake tomorrow!):
Honestly, I don't know where this week went! I am so glad it's Friday, I ended up taking half the day off work just so I could get some things done. Hope you all have a nice weekend! It's going to be blisteringly hot here this weekend, so we'll be testing out our newly replaced A/C system. Thanks for looking!

No Stamping? No Problem!

Another challenge completed for this week! I'm on a roll...

The Limited Supply Challenge at SCS was to make a card with no stamping involved. Since I still had some Berry Bliss paper out on my desk, that's what I grabbed. The center is punched with the Giga scalloped oval, then I cut a white oval with my Curvy Cutter and added a "Thanks" sticker. The flowers are primas, and the center is a pewter brad from Making Memories. The pink striped ribbon was also out on my desk. I have a ton of it and don't even remember where it came from. I ran it through a We R Memory Keepers buckle.
Well, I'm off to the craft store to make an exchange. I bought some Basic Grey Magnetic Snaps and one is missing from the package. The only silver lining about driving there is that I get to use another 50% off coupon...

Tonight, and tomorrow, I plan on making some cards in colors other than PINK! I'm tired of seeing pink. Time to clean off my desk and start from scratch. Wishing all of you Mothers out there a Happy Mother's Day! May you be spoiled and treated to stamp time :)
