Flashback to Valentine's Day

Since I don't have anything new from the last few days, I found this Valentine card that I never loaded. I made it to send to one of our nieces in Arizona. The papers are from the DCWV Spring Stack that never ends, and the felt swirls are from Queen & Co. I have to say that they are very pretty swirls, but peeling the backing off and sticking them down without getting all twisted up proved to be a bit challenging! The sentiment is from a Studio G dollar set.

Can It Really Be the LAST Day of November?

So hard to believe that tomorrow is December 1st! My niece is turning 13, and that hardly seems possible, either. Where DOES the time go?

Today I spent a little time making progress through my Google Reader (trying to get it below 400 items to read!). I copied the CPS #93 sketch and noticed it fit an image I had colored on my desk, so I put it together. The papers are all Basic Grey Perhaps. Tilda is colored with watercolor pencils and my aquapainter. The flowers are Primas and the tiny brad is Queen and Co. The silver ribbon is from Ribbons & Bows, Oh My! and the pink ribbon is from my stash.

I hope you all had a good weekend. We went to the Mall yesterday for a birthday party at Build-a-Bear. What fun the kids had, but I have to say that the parents throwing the party were MUCH too generous to all the kids in attendance. And after building bears, they hosted lunch at a local restaurant. It was fun, but a little over the top for a 5 year old's party...

Happy Thanksgiving to All

Happy Thursday to those who are not celebrating American Thanksgiving! We are headed to our neighbors in a short while. DS has been parked on the couch all day, still sick. I might stay home with him and just have DH bring a plate to me. This morning, since I have NO cooking or prep to do, I spent some time in my stamp room. I took out the CPS sketch for this week, which is #92. This Edwin image was part of a RAK (I'm trying to use my RAK'd images, can you tell?) and was a blast to color. I just love these Magnolia images to watercolor. The dp is from DCWV Mini Stack 3 that I've been trying to use up for a year now. I cut the oval image by tracing around a Nestability with my xacto knife, then cut his shoes with scissors. The blue panel is DCWV Spring Mat Stack and the Cuttlebugged layer is done with the Houndstooth folder. The ribbon is from my stash. I left off a sentiment, but this will probably be a Thank You card for DS's teacher at the end of the year.

Each week, I look forward to the Monday Lunchtime Sketch on the TechnoStamper blog. Mary Jo always does a fabulous job with the sketches. Last week, I didn't get to it in time, but it's in my sketch book for future reference. This week, I made it a priority to get a card done. It was an easy one and came together quite nicely. Don't you love when that happens?I got this Magnolia image from my SBS12 Sister Rachel. So sweet! I had this Hugs and Kisses paper in my stash from a blog candy win last year, and the flowers were also in my basket. I have jars and bowls and baskets full of flowers at this point. I think this might be the first time I have used an actual button on a project! The image is watercolored and her wings have a bit of glitter pen on them. The base card is Purely Pomegranate.

Hopefully I can get another card done before tv time tonight. So many sketches and challenges, so little time! Thanks for looking!
