Birthday Mojo for Mom

It's been forever since I've tackled a Mojo Monday sketch, but today I was inspired to use #86. I feel like when using a Mojo Monday sketch, it has to be a very feminine card, and today I needed a birthday card for my mom. The papers are from the Basic Grey Sultry pad, and the stamps are My Mind's Eye Laundry Line, Flirty "Lil Girl" Clear Stamps.

The ink is Pink Pirouette, which was just the right shade I was looking for. You can't see in the photo, but the butterfly is painted over with Twinkling H2Os and the flourishes have some glitter pen on the ends. The scalloped and straight rectangles were cut with Nesties in the Cuttlebug. The rhinestones are from my stash. The only thing missing is a ribbon, but I wasn't quite sure where to place one. Oh, and the sentiment is from Little Paper Shop.

I have a few more creations to post over the next few days, including a sample of the 40 graduation invitations I made for my (much younger!) brother who is graduating high school next month. Hope you are all having a good week. Can you believe it's almost over already? Thanks for looking!

Mojo Monday Week 42, On Friday...

Most weeks, I don't even get to all the challenges that are posted, so I am actually very happy to be posting this today. It means I made it in within the week! As you can tell, I am still in love with these Verve sets, this time Fluttering By. DP is from My Mind's Eye Bohemian line, Backyard My Journey Brocade/Brown and Stripe/Line. The velvet rick rack is from American Crafts, from the Target sale I mentioned a couple posts ago. The butterfly is stamped with the rock n roll method, using Green Galore and Close to Cocoa inks. I added some brown dew drops to the image panel after using the rounded corner punch on two of the corners. The butterfly is stamped twice, the top layer is paper pieced. I hope to have more time this weekend to play. DH is back in town, and after a couple of long walks Saturday and Sunday I hope to have SOME time to myself... I hope you all get some play time in, too! Thanks for looking!

Out of This World

Ok, one more post before I have to run out and do a few errands. I always print off Julee's Mojo Monday sketches, and never get around to doing them in the appropriate week. BUT, here's my first Mojo Monday, done before the next one is posted!! This is Mojo Monday #29.

My first intinct was to drag out the flourishes and flowers again for this layout, but then I thought of all the little boy birthday cards that I need through the year. So instead of florals, I reached for SU! By Air. I love this set, which is similar to By Land, with obvious differences. It is the first time I have inked the spaceship. I used Versamark and clear embossed it on navy paper. The weathered brown panel is from CTMH, and the panels under the sentiment are from my stash. They were part of a RAK and I don't have the paper name. The sentiment is stamped freehand (can you tell?) with letter stamps from Target. You would never know that I really DID use the Stamp-a-ma-jig! Oh well, the letters look like they are floating in space, right?
The stars are eyelets from my stash, covering up a botched embossing job (I'll spare you the details). Now I just have to remember this is in my stash when the next birthday rolls around :)

OK, off to the post office, the bank, the pharmacy, and maybe to Target. Or maybe Barnes and Noble to treat myself to a Cafe Mocha? Decisions...

Thanks for looking!
