Father's Day, Color Throwdown Style...

Yippee! I did the Color Throwdown (#88) before the deadline :) Thanks to DH for taking the boys out for a bit this afternoon, allowing me some guilt-free craft time!

I didn't add a sentiment so this could actually be a Father's Day or other masculine holiday card. AND, I made two of them since everything was already out and being cut. Aren't I productive? LOL.

The base is Tangerine Tango and the dp is from Basic Grey, with a little So Saffron mixed in for good measure. Image layers are cut with the Deckled Rectangle Nesties. So fun!

I hope everyone had a good weekend! We got big news, but also had to sadly cancel our big summer vacation. I'm bummed, but good things are on the horizon :) Thanks for looking!

Two Down, Two to Go

My DH and I have mixed families, which means there are lots of cards to make come Mother's Day and Father's Day. Here are the cards I made for his dad and stepdad. Still to be done are my stepdad's card, and a card for DH. Actually, the latter is made, but I can't post it in case he peeks at my blog!

For the first card, I used Furnished with Love and embossed the fan. I masked the sentiment from the image and then stamped it along with "you're" from one of my Verve stamps. The black layer on the banner is twill tape. For the second card, I used some of the Amy Butler paper that has been in my scrap stash for a while. I love it, but was reluctant to use it up. I have enough for a few more cards that I will save for a later occasion. The image is from Lovely as a Tree, stamped in True Thyme. The blue layers are scrap and the sentiment is from MFT. The square snaps are from my never-ending stash of embellishments.

Today, it's time to clean the bathrooms and do the dusting. Yippee. I may make myself do the bathrooms before allowing myself time in the craft room. This weekend we are headed to NH again and I also have to be sure our laundry is done before we go. So the next few days will be busy, but I do have a few more things to post. DS Collaborates...

I had this Little Paper Shop image on my desk, and DS claimed it as his own, sitting down to color it with his markers. I used it last night to make this card for DH for Father's Day. It was simple to put together. All I added was some ribbon, some brads, and some clear baubles that I colored with my orange Sharpie. Then I noticed that my Sharpie was leaking, so now there is no orange in my collection...Hope you all enjoyed your weekend! Thanks for looking!

Father's Day Techno-Stamper Style

I have too many Father's Day cards to make, since we both come from families of divorce. I fully intended to stamp this weekend, and time just got away from me. We had friends over Saturday for a cook-out and realized that our refrigerator was not working. The drinks were not chilling!! Therefore, Sunday found us running around trying to find a new fridge. Of course, I did my Consumer Reports research only to find that the models in the stores in NO WAY matched the models in the CR printout I had. How frustrating! We did find one, and hope to have it delivered tomorrow, even though they have not called this evening to confirm.

This week, I was determined to use the Monday Lunchtime Sketch posted over at Techno Stamper. It is a great sketch (as always) and lent itself perfectly to masculine Father's Day Cards. As did my new stamps from Little Paper Shop. The book stack stamp is Hambo.

I'm going to add details later - thunderstorms are starting and I want to shut down the computer.

ETA: paper is CTMH, square brads are Making Memories, baubles are from Michael's, colored with Sharpies. Love this cheap embellishment! Images are colored and blended with Prismacolor pencils and OMS.
