TCC#5 - May

I really wasn't sure if I would get a chance to participate in Tracy's Christmas Card Challenge for this month, but here they are! I had some time today while everyone spent some quiet time in their rooms. I decided to forego the nap and stamp! The only downfall is that I had to clean up when I was done because the house is still on the market.

Everything Looks Better in Kraft

In reality, the white one looks worse because the white of the image is pearly, and the card base is not. Also, I realized I used the image with more white on the white base and maybe it would look better if it was the one with more red. Oh, well. I still like the kraft one better!

I am in the process of making 10 of these to add to the Christmas stash. Hopefully this month I'll get to Tracy's challenge, but it's not looking too good. My craft room is mostly packed up and cleaned and I'm afraid to make a mess in it!

Today is our public open house and we are just hoping for an offer. It has only been on the market for a week, but I am exhausted from keeping it clean! Today everything is done, but I am obsessing about dusty baseboards! Seriously, how many people look at baseboards during an open house? At least I wasn't sweeping the bulkhead stairs like DH last night...

I hope you are all having a good day! Thanks for looking!

Bright Stripes

I found this paper as I was cleaning out the craft room, and had this little metal charm on my desk from a Valentine's Day pile. I added a little scalloped square, some brads and here you are. I think it's a cute little card - simple but colorful!

This weekend, we had a huge party to say goodbye to all of our friends here in NJ. The packers are coming in 2 weeks and we are moving on June 30. We'll be in limbo for about a week as we get ourselves to TX, but things are moving along nicely. Thankfully our house in NJ is under contract and that's one less thing to worry about. What a relief!!

Can't wait to get settled in my new craft space. I hope you all are enjoying the summer so far. Thanks for looking!

EONAC 16: Use Every Stamp?!

This week, Sue and Allison charged us with choosing a solid stamp set and using EVERY stamp in the set. Luckily, we could create more than one card! I chose By Air and made some cute cards for little boys. We always have little boy birthday parties to go to, and I usually have to scramble to make a card at the last minute.

I am swamped with movers, realtors and getting the house ready lately, so don't know when I'll stamp again :( I have so many ideas floating through my head that when I do have time, look out! Meanwhile, thanks for looking!

Well, Look At That!

Do you know that the printed card bases of these two cards are the SAME exact base? I didn't realize how different they can appear until I used the pale pink on one of them and the brighter pink on the other one. They are photographed in the same light and everything. Interesting to me, maybe common sense to some of you!

I'm posting twice today because I also wanted to participate in the EONA challenge this week, which was to use those card fronts you have laying around, unfinished. I had these images colored and matted, and never used them. I hope it counts! Since I have this box of printed card bases, I chose those to finish a few Thank You cards.

Welcome Neighbor Bella

We are close to choosing a realtor and listing our house on the market. I'm getting anxious and hoping for the process to go quickly and smoothly. Thinking positive thoughts, I used the CPS sketch to make this Thank You card. I hope I didn't curse myself instead!

I found this image in my stash of those waiting to be colored and used up. The papers are from SU! Welcome Neighbor pad, and the base is Crushed Curry. The ribbon is Bermuda Bay. I'm still loving this paper pad and the In Colors! Since I have packed up about 60% of my craft room, I am trying to use whatever is out on the pretense that if I use it, I don't have to move it! Or rather, the movers don't have to move it...

It will be like Christmas all over when I get my stuff unpacked again! And hopefully I'll have a new craft room in time to get a nice order from the new SU! Catty :) Is it bad to buy yourself a housewarming present?

Flower Favors

My mom and I were in charge of making favors for a baby shower last month. She came to visit in April and we put these together. We used up lots of older papers I had, in pretty pastel colors. They were cut using the Nesties Blossoms dies and the centers are SU! treat cups filled with Easter m&ms. I still have a huge bag of the candies, and don't know when I'll use them. Anyone need a 42oz bag of pastel m&ms??

The rectangle tins were from Target's dollar spot and the ribbons are from the shower favors we did last year. Easy and economical favors, and everyone loved them!

Seeing Spots!

I made these cards ages ago before packing up my craft room in our old home. I was inspired by a dress in a Kohl's ad, but can't find the image now among the mess! They were super fun to make. I just ran a bunch of scraps through the Cuttlebug with random circle Nesties and added some ribbon and a sentiment. Quick and easy and I think they'll be fun for little boys on their birthdays.

An update on my whereabouts - we are settling into our new home in Texas. It is a lovely home and we are still unpacking everything. There has been one trip to IKEA for my craft room already and will probably be more. I snuck away this morning for a quiet coffee at Starbucks and am enjoying the free wi-fi since we don't have internet at the house just yet. Wednesday they will set it up.

My craft room is beginning to get set up and I will work on it more this afternoon. Who knew I had so much stuff until it all went into boxes for moving! There was a close contest between the number of craft supply boxes and toy boxes for the boys! I think I won with more craft supply boxes :)

Floral Miss You

I love to play along each week with the challenge that Sue and Allison post. This week, it's to use brads. I have TONS of these and was able to use the antique copper round ones as flower centers. They are just the right size for these little flowers from Vintage Vogue.

Since 90% of my crafty stash is packed away, and I can't make too much of a mess in my office until we have an offer on the house, I used these pieces left from another day of card making with this set. The sentiment is from MFT.

I had a whirlwind trip to TX this weekend. My plane was supposed to leave at 6 Friday evening, but didn't leave till around 8. By the time I got to my hotel, it was 2am TX time, which means 3am NJ time. I met with a realtor on Saturday and we toured 15 houses. After that, I met some colleagues of DH and had dinner with them, then flew home Sunday morning. I'm still exhausted! We just have to come up with our final wish list and send it to her. Then we can fly out again and hopefully make a decision and an offer. Let's hope for a quick offer on this place and we can be on our way!

Butterfly Miss You

Holy Crow!! I didn't realize that I haven't posted since the end of May! Yikes :)

We've been in the midst of moving from New Jersey and are almost settled in Texas. We put our house on the market in NJ in May, and had a viable offer within 3 weeks of listing. Then I started packing for the move and lost the time to craft. DH had a two-week business trip to China and Russia when the movers came to pack up the house. The boys and I went to NH to spend some time with family, then DH drove a car to TX, flew to NH to meet us and here we are. It's been crazy, to say the least. The boys have been troopers.

Hopefully we are closing on our new home tomorrow. Wish us luck! I will post pics of the new crafty space and house when it is finished. I cannot wait to craft again - it's been so long!

Flower Thanks

When I had this paper out a while ago, I played around and made this card trying to use up the scraps. The tag is from Target several years ago. The leaves are from a Cuttlebug die, and the flowers are Nesties.

The rest of the card is pretty self-explanatory, and that's it. I hope you are all having a good day. Thanks for looking!
